一般来说，慢性盆腔炎影响性生活主要体现在两个方面

1、由于性生活时加重了盆腔充血，而且性生活动作容易对炎性组织造成直接或间接的撞击，引起疼痛或诱发盆腔炎急性发作。

2、由于撞击了炎性组织，会引起不同程度的痛，这样女性就会产生对性生活的恐惧和厌恶，当然也有一部分女性为了满足丈夫的要求，对这种疼痛采取忍受的态度，这样的性生活就根本无乐趣可言。所以说慢性盆腔炎无论是在生理和心理上对女性的性健康都会造成不同程度的损害。

急性盆腔炎在看诊期间以及慢性盆腔炎的患者在急性发作期不要有性生活，这是要重视的。但是，如果在经过正规看诊之后，慢性盆腔炎患者的症状得到了的控制，还是可以有适当的性生活的。

慢性盆腔炎的病情是否得到控制，是患者的症状和体征来判断的。慢性盆腔炎患者在经过看诊后，自身下腹痛、坠胀等症状得到缓解，并在妇检时发现宫颈举痛、盆腔压痛感觉消失，都可以作为判断患者是否可以有性生活的依据。

另一方面，可以有适当性生活的慢性盆腔炎的患者，在进行性生活的时候也要有注意事项性生活的次数要相对减少，时间不宜太长，以免盆腔充血时间过长诱发急性发作，动作也不能太粗暴，如果冲击了炎性组织，引起痛就会不得不终止。因此，在伴侣患病治的过程中，男方应该体谅女性，全力配合女方看诊。
